Going Wild is good for business

Sustainability has long been at the heart of what we do. To date, Bee Midtown has worked with local businesses to establish nine sites with either rooftop beehives or gardens.  As part of our new Bee Wild initiative we’d like to see that number grow.

We’ve been working with London Wildlife Trust to review our bee and garden programme to understand how we can extend the benefits to even more businesses – building a more sustainable city while meeting our members’ corporate social responsibility objectives.

Research has shown that good quality green spaces help businesses in all sorts of ways – attracting investment, improving productivity, and encouraging consumer spending. Over the next three years we’ll be installing green roofs, green walls, bee-friendly plants in public spaces and, eventually, new beehives. To do that, we need local businesses who want to help improve the local area.

We can offer advice, support and, if you have the space, we can even help you install a bee-friendly garden. In the long term we’ll be running volunteering sessions, gardening clubs and workshops for employees who want to get involved and learn new skills. Email karen@bee-london.com to register your interest and find out more about the opportunities that will be on offer in the coming months.

In the meantime, take a look at some other ways in which you can help your employees connect with nature: Go Wild for 30 days, join the Great British Bee Count, take part in National Clean Air Day and find out more about bee-friendly gardening
